About Me

My name is Sam Aldeguer and I am a fourth-year honors student at the University of Kansas studying Computer Science with a minor in Business. My love for computer science began in elementary school when I would play games on my family's computer and became curious about what went on behind the scenes. Fast forward to now, I will be working at H&R Block after graduation as an Associate Software Engineer. I enjoy both front-end and back-end development, as I have strengths in C++, C, Python, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SQL. I am the President of Upsilon Pi Epsilon, a Computer Science Honor Society; a member of Tau Beta Pi, an Engineering Honor Society; and a member of Zeta Theta Tau, a professional engineering fraternity. Through my current and prior involvements, I have gained immense leadership, communication, and organizational skills that I hope to utilize in my career.

FRONT-END DEVELOPMENT

Has experience using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, C, C++, Python, and Bootstrap for front-end development.

BACK-END DEVELOPMENT

Has experience using JavaScript, C, C++, Python, PHP, SQL, Flask, Flex, and Bison for back-end development.

MATHEMATICS

Has immense mathematical skills, specifically in algebra and calculus.

PHOTO & VIDEO EDITING

Has skills in photo and video editing softwares, such as Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Premiere Pro.

More About Me

Aside from Computer Science, I also have other interests I enjoy pursuing in my free time. Flipping and diving is a huge hobby of mine and one I've loved my whole life. In high school, I was a 4-time state finalist and a team captain for 2 years, placing top 10 in the state twice. I was also the leader of the KU Dive Club, where I helped coach and manage a team of around 8 divers. During the summers of 2021 and 2022, I was a dive coach for the Country Club of Leawood, where I was responsible for managing and coaching around 80 divers with ages ranging from 5-19. The feeling of flipping and being upside down is amazing to me and is something I'll always chase. In addition, I also love playing basketball and am very passionate about college basketball. I grew up being an avid Kansas Basketball fan and nothing about that has changed. I am the leader of a Kansas Basketball camping group, where our group camps for every home game to get good seats. When I have the chance, I enjoy playing pickup and intramural basketball.
